Favorite Fall Pieces!

Happy Tuesday!

I'm so glad it's finally feeling like FALL!
Time to bring out the boots and scarves...and pumpkins and cabbage plants and pumpkin spice lattes of course:)

Do you decorate for the season? Growing up, my mom ALWAYS decorated the house for each and every season. Although I don't have children's artwork to hang on cabinets, I like to incorporate a little bit of fall into our house!

Thirsty Thursday & An Appetizer

Where did this week go? Can you believe it's already THURSDAY??

You better believe I'll be making both of these tonight!

We have a ton of honeycrisp apples in our fridge right now and this cocktail is the perfect way to use them!I love champagne and I love apples so it's the perfect combination...and so EASY to make!

And the baked brie- I've loved it ever since I was a little kids. I've had it several places before but I think what makes this one better is what I serve it with... Anna's ginger thins. Y'all-these are SO good. You HAVE to try them...and what better way to try them than dipping them in Kahlua and brie??

Happy Thursday! What are you drinking tonight?

SBCGSA Grilled Cheese with Roasted Butternut Squash Soup

Can you guess what SBCGSA stands for?

Don't scroll down!

Take a guess and leave it in a comment:)

Last night our meal was the bomb diggety.

No Joke

I'm not sure why it has taken me so long to make this genius creation but boy, am I glad a did!

The Recipes:

Sourdough, Brie, Chicken and Granny Smith Apple Grilled Cheese

Ingredients:
2 slices sourdough bread
a few slices of brie
deli sliced buffalo chicken
granny smith apple, sliced thin
mayonnaise
Dijon mustard

Directions:
  •  heat pan over medium and spray with pam
  • coat once slice of bread in a little bit of mayo- (trust me)
  • put in pan to toast, flip once crusty
  • layer (in this order) brie, apples, chicken
  • cook on low until melted
  • take this layer and put it on a plate
  • coat another slice of bread and toast both sides
  • put on top of other layer

Roasted Butternut Squash Soup

I honestly don't have a recipe but I'll let you know what I did!

  • roast a butternut squash
  • caramalize a couple of onions
  • add red pepper flakes, and  a couple bay leaves
  • add a box of RR chicken stock
  • add squash
  • add some milk, fresh thyme, hot sauce, nutmeg
  • puree
  • S&P to taste
  •  add a dollop of greek yogurt, parmesan cheese, and nutmeg
Both delish and pretty easy. So do me a favor, make this tonight and let me know your thoughts. If you don't pin it asap, you'll be glad you did!

In other news, we're making some progress on the house.
I wish
some
was
A LOT
 but it's not.

More on that tomorrow! And I need help. We have a dilemma in the dining room!

Following C's: Fall Favorites

I've been reading Courtney's blog for a few months now and it's one of my daily reads! She is a wonderful photographer, mother to two precious boys, has a great sense of style and totally makes me want to be a mom like her! Make sure you check her out at Following C's!

____________xoxo____________

Hey everyone! I'm Courtney from Following C's and I'm so happy to be guest posting for Fletcher today! I ran across her blog several months ago and I've been a fan ever since:)  Very excited to step in today!

Fletcher asked me to share some cold weather favorites with you and I have *lots* of favorites this year. This is one of those seasons where everything seems to be pretty!

DV by Dolce Vita 'Lunna' cap toe flats - I love all the cap toes this year.  So cute and tons of styles to choose from!
Factory iPhone case - I'll take anything with a sassy animal print.
JCrew animal print wool scarf - I live in scarves in the fall and love this one.
ShopSosie Meridan necklace - Fun statement necklace to wear with basic white tee and jeans.
JCrew cabernet cords - Cords are nice and cozy and I love this pair.  It seems burgundy is all the rage this season and that's okay with me:)

JCrew school boy blazer - I love that blazers are back this year.  This one's pricey but such a classic.  I love that when I wear a blazer I don't need a bulky coat - lightweight but warm.
Gap supersoft crew - These tees are wonderful. Supersoft and easy to throw on with jeans and a scarf and coat.
Gap scarf - Scarves keep me cozy and this one has a punch of color.
Tory Burch 'Nadine' riding boots - A major splurge in my opinion but I live in boots when fall arrives and this pair is sooooo pretty.

Is everyone ready for it to get chilly?  I admit I am:) Thanks so much for having me Fletcher!

Falling for Fall: The Table

So I'm starting a new series: Falling for Fall

Each Wednesday, there will be a post about different things for Fall!
(Too bad I don't have Photoshop right now to make a cute little banner:()

I hope you enjoy the season as much as I do!

Maybe it's because I watched Martha Stewart as a little girl
or because I helped Gaga set the table all the time
or maybe it's just because I'm Southern

Either way, I'm a sucker for a pretty table scape!
And Fall does not disappoint for a pretty one!

I love Fall table scapes because it brings the outdoors in
and makes them even prettier!

I love everything about this picture! I love different colored pumpkins!

Even though this is on a mantle, I think it would be pretty on a table!

Such a clean table! I love white...especially when it's white pumpkins!

How simple and easy is this? Indian cor wrapped around glass

I've seen artichokes in Spring tablescapes but never in a Fall one!
I love how neutral the whole table is!

A cornucopia makes a pretty centerpiece!

Finally, something from Kevin's catalog that I like! Eric should be impressed!

Woodland China by Spode
I actually like this china- and so does Eric!
We are collecting this...a perfect compromise for us!

Cheap and easy fall place card!

Love the way these apple candle holders look!
Would be great for Christmas too!

I am in LOVE with ugly pumpkins:)

Now it's your turn! What are your Fall table inspirations?
