Be Our Guest

Hello loves! I hope your week was great!

Unlike mine.

We have some fun weekend plans.
We're painting our guest bedroom floor!
I'm thinking glossy white.

Ah! I can't wait.
Eric is pumped too.

When I brought you this post,
I was looking for headboards for our guest room.

Even though this room won't be used a lot,
I still want guests to feel comfortable.

I wanted to do something different in this room.
It's a girly room.
After all, there is a Man Cave across the hall:)
Here is the plan:

It's super small and there isn't a lot of usable wall space.
You see, it was an attic at one time.
Everything most everything I picked is quite inexpensive.
Yes, there are a lot of DIY's to tackle but I think it will be worth it!

Sure, there are many things that need to be added but
 I think it's a good starting point!

Like the look? Here are the sources:)

 Happy weekend loves!

P.S. I have a great giveaway coming up! Details on the Mon

Right On Target

We all know that Target has had a lot of great lines lately.

As I was on the prowl for a cheap inexpensive, great looking, stylish headboard, I stumbled upon quite a few from Target!

Who would have guessed? Not I.

Take a look

What great finds have you found lately?

I'm a definitely a list maker.
It's true.

Here is my (accomplish soon) DIY list:

paint some lamps to look like this...

With a lot of patience and some gold paint,
I think I can achieve a similar look!

Finish our TABLE!

frame some intaglios

great tutorial here

I think these would look great on my staircase!

paint a plastic animal gold

I bought a large giraffe from the dollar ($3) section at Target
the damn thing doesn't stand up

Bathroom and Kitchen Reno

it's like a MUST
we have no counter space in the kitchen

get my office in working order

Make me do it!
I am always starting projects and never finishing them.
I think that will be my New Years resolution.
First, I'll have to make a list for resolutions :)

What DIY projects are you tackling soon?

Prosperity Dip

Hey loves! How is the new year treating y'all?

January 2nd always seems a little better than January 1st...agreed?

Well, did ya make the traditional New Years Day dinner?
I did- except with a twist!

My Menu:
 Prosperity Dip- for prosperity
Collards-for money
Balsamic Pork Tenderloin- for good things to come
corn bread- because it's good
veggie casserole- just because
Sock It To Me Cake- for luck
(I always hide a quarter in it, boiled first, of course)

I usually HATE black eyed with a passion.
My sister thinks that they taste like waterfalls.
I'm not so sure I know what she means but I think I agree.

This year was different.

black eyed pea lovers and haters,

Prosperity Dip

Not the original name but I think it's quite fitting:)

Thank you, Ree. I'll totally be eating black eyed peas from now on!

And the best thing- It couldn't be easier!

Prosperity Dip:
(adapted from here)
  • 2 14-ounce cans Black-eyed Peas
  • 1/4 whole Onion, Chopped Fine
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 1/2-2 cups Cheddar Cheese
  • 8 Tablespoons Salsa
  • add as much salt, pepper and hot sauce as you'd like
mash drained black eyed peas, leaving some whole
add other ingredients and combine
place in casserole dish and bake at 350 ish for about 30 mintues
or until cheese is bubbly

That's it!

Serve with tortilla chips and watch it disapear!

If you don't have everything, improvise. I think I may use pepper jack cheese next time!
