Our New House: The Den Plan

Well, we move in two weeks! Crazy, right?

I recently wrote a post on making our new house a home. You can read it here. I still have every intention to do so! To do that, quickly, I have to use what I've got. Let's be real, I can't go out next week and buy everything I want to decorate our house.  I want to live in this house, and then see what I want to do with different rooms. But no matter what, I'm going to make it feel like home.

The first room I'm going to tackle is the den. I feel like we'll spend most of our time in there so I want us to be able to enjoy it right away. I've done my best to incoroporate Eric's "style" birds and hide into this space. After all, it's his house too!

Instead of coming up with a master plan, I've come up with a few phases. Sure, these may change along the way, but I think I have a pretty good starting point. We already have a lot of these pieces which will make it easier to accomplish soon. .

I know that I want the walls painted white...
actually, all of the rooms will be white.

 Phase 1:

 (Eric's favorite board)

Both of these boards are considered phase one. The only difference is the cow hide rug (which we already have).

Eric likes the 2nd one better, I like the 1st.

Phase Two:

(My favorite board)

In Phase Two, I want to get a Persian rug and a new coffee table.

I planned the room around this coffee table. Even though it's not in Phase One, I wanted to plan. That's why you see green throughout the rooms on P1! Remember, I want to make it feel like a home starting with what we already have. If you plan, you can reach your long term goal, step by step.

To give you (and Eric) an idea of the furniture layout, I've placed a few items in a picture. Thank you, Photoshop:)

Which board you you like the best?

Wisteria Clearance: My Favorites and A Room Design

Happy Monday!

Over the weekend I was browsing some online sales. Y'all, Wisteria has a ton of great items on sale right now. There are so many items that I want.

There are so many pieces that coordinate so well. As I was looking, I kept thinking "big boy room". I've seen so many "big girl" and "big boy" on Pinterest lately. Have you?

Well, I decided that I would design a room from these great sale items. All of the pieces are form the Wisteria clearance section!

wisteria.com, boys room, sale, clearance room, budget room, transitional room, antelope,

No, it's not everything you would need for a bedroom,
but I think it's a pretty good starting point!

May Collaboration!

Hey loves! I hope everyone had a great weekend...
and that you aren't paying for it today!

Today I have a few great mood boards to show you!

A few weeks ago, I was asked to join a few other bloggers in a fun blog series. We were all sent one picture to design a mood board around.

This was our inspiration:

This is what we came up with:

Me:

I wanted to do this room in two different ways! I was inspired by this Clarence House fabric!

Don't you just love it??

I think this room is fun for a child but can also grow with them:) This would also be great for a shared room or a gender neutral nursery!

Hey guys - I'm Amy from The Blissful Bee! I am a designer and photographer based out of Texas and I love to blog about my creative adventures. Make sure to check out my blog if you would like to see more of my designs:)

Hi! It's Samantha...the Designer in Teal. I'm excited to be joining in on the collaboration again this month. This fresh color palette inspired me to create a relaxing spa like ladies restroom. I typically do designs on living rooms, bedrooms and offices so this was a refreshing change. I hope you will stop by to see the details and resources so that you can recreate the look. Also, because I am trying to build a portfolio, you can get a custom mood board from me for free!

carissa from carissa miss here. lucky for me i got to work on one of my most anticipated boards...a little girl's room for my not-so-little-anymore girl! we are hoping to transform her bedroom from nursery/toddler room to sophisticated chic little girl room. i've been working on the design in my head pretty much since she was born:) her nursery wasn't ever really anything but a hodge-podge of handmedowns and clearance items so i've been waiting until she had a space of her own i could slowly save up and design the perfect room. here's the fun inspiration board! come visit me to see all the details and sources!

I had so much fun with this ladies! I can't wait to do it again next month:)

Make sure you visit everyone's blog to get the details!

Update Your Room

This week, we're working with what you've got!

Jen wants to update her family room but has a few existing
pieces that need to be incorporated.

Right now, the walls are blue and she's wanting a light and airy feel.

Let's see if we can accomplish that for her!

We've kept the existing sofa and rug and the ottoman is being reupholstered.
The room will have a completely different feel with a fresh coat of paint, and bright and run pillows.

I can't wait to see the finished product!

Come link up with us!

My Master Bedroom Plan

Today I'm linking up with Design Your Dwelling! From now on, I'll be sharing a new design board every Tuesday!

This week, I decided to make a plan for my master bedroom.

We haven't done ANYTHING to it yet.
There is a funky paneling on the wall that needs to be replaced with drywall and until that happens, I'm not changin' a thing.

It still has a ways to go and there are many details to add but I think it's a pretty good jumping off point!

The room was inspired by this Ballard Designs rug.

There are a lot of DIY projects that I would like to tackle in this room!

Frame intaglios to put beside the t.v.

gold leaf a songe mirror to balance out the window

Be sure to check out these other great boards as well!

Be Our Guest

Hello loves! I hope your week was great!

And WARM.

Unlike mine.

We have some fun weekend plans.
We're painting our guest bedroom floor!

I'm thinking glossy white.

Ah! I can't wait.
Eric is pumped too.

__________Anyway___________

When I brought you this post,
I was looking for headboards for our guest room.

Even though this room won't be used a lot,
I still want guests to feel comfortable.

I wanted to do something different in this room.
It's a girly room.
After all, there is a Man Cave across the hall:)
Here is the plan:

It's super small and there isn't a lot of usable wall space.
You see, it was an attic at one time.
Everything most everything I picked is quite inexpensive.
Yes, there are a lot of DIY's to tackle but I think it will be worth it!

Sure, there are many things that need to be added but
 I think it's a good starting point!

Like the look? Here are the sources:)

 Happy weekend loves!

Nursery Design: Baby B's Nursery Plan

I think nurseries are my favorite rooms to design! Maybe because I love babies or maybe because I like to see nurseries that aren't all "baby".
Why decorate a room that can't be used when the child is older?

When Caroline and I were talking, her only request was not too much pink. Other than that, I had free rein!

Baby B's Nursery
My plan is for the walls to be white and the ceiling to be blue! It will be an added pop of color for baby B when she's laying in her crib.

I don't think you need to spend a ton of money to have a g great room. Many of the items we will be able to DIY.

Dresser
with help from Ikea and O'verlays, we can achieve the same look

Lamps
we can find some old lamps and do this to them

Curtains
I want wider stripes-sew (no pun intended:) we someone who knows how to can sew pink and white fabric together

Paintings
my mom is an artist so she can tackle those!
Rabbit artwork
Instead of using fabric, I think it would be a sweet touch if big sister Stella painted them!

I can't wait to see this nursery come together!
I hope baby B will love it!

Curius Wyatt Turns ONE!

As summer approaches, so does Mr. Wyatt's birthday! Last year he had a "Curious Wyatt" themed party for his First Birthday. Not sure why we chose that theme but I'm glad we did!
As you can see, bananas played a major part in the decorations.

For the table "runner" I cut out different sized circles in blue, red, yellow and brown. It was left over from the cupcake toppers that I made. I also made monkey faces to stick on a few of the chairs!

My mom painted the cute banner to hang on the fence!

I made little monkey tails out of batting and wire coat hangers for all of the kids to wear (please don't judge my sewing ability, i taught myself to sew making the tails)

These cupcake toppers were super easy to make! I may be biased but I think they turned out to be pretty darn cute!

The birthday boy had a banana smash cake. As you can see, he cared less about the time I spent making it. He thought it was delish. (Can you tell he likes to eat?)

The party favors included mini bananas and bubbles..what 1 year old doesnt like both?

I think that everyone was worn out by the end of the party! Note to self: take a group picture at beginning of party

Me with the birthday boy!

And how cute are these? The PERFECT, easy thank you cards! Eric's mom made them. Check out her etsy shop to see more of her cute cards!
