40th Fiesta!

A few weeks ago, we had a SURPRISE 40th Fiesta for Eric's Aunt. I think we really surprised her and everyone seemed to have a good time. Some of these ideas would be great for Cinco De Mayo. In fact, I plan to use them again:)

We had the party in her back yard so we only had about 30 minutes to set up!

The tassle streamers were really easy to make! I followed this tutorial...
sort of. 

The centerpieces are cans from the grocery store filled with paper flowers. Since the flowers are so light, I had to hot glue them in!

Can we talk about this cake topper for a little bit? LOVE.Love.love. 
Super easy, too (I just used the leftovers from the cupcake toppers and paper flowers). I will definitely be making these toppers again...can you imagine the possibilities? 

And then there are the festive cupcake toppers. I think these will be making a debut on Cinco De Mayo. These are super easy to make as well. I got inspiration from this tutorial .

Why is it so hard to get a picture of multiple kids looking at a camera?

Overall, I think it was a hit! Here's to 40 more great years, Jana!

Super Bowl Food

With the Super Bowl approaching, I thought I would do a little round 

up of great party appetizers!

We won't be having people over this year. Wait, maybe we should have an unpacking/Super Bowl party. I'm sure the guys would be down with that. ha! 

I don't think you can go wrong with any of these...

 most of these are SUPER EASY to make and there's something for everyone!

 

Antipasti Squares. Grits Poppers. Shrimp & Chorizo Bites. Prosciutto, Melon and Mozzarella Balls. Charleston Cheese Dip. Roasted Brussesls. Pimento Cheese. 5 layer Greek Dip. BLT bites

This is our last night in Ohio! Wish us luck driving to the warmth snow of South Carolina. Yes, snow. Can you believe it?

Columbus Blogger Babies

A few months ago, I got together with a few other Columbus bloggers to throw a SURPRISE baby shower for the 3 preggo bloggers!

We decided to have the shower on my back deck-ONE day after the deck was HALFWAY completed....whew!

 I put two tables together to make one large square...

I covered it in burlap, added these lanterns and DIY aged pots with herbs...

so simple!

Aren't these boxed dinners cute?

I made two different sandwiches (I need to post recipes instructions... they're delish and easy), wrapped them in parchment 

paper and tied them with bakers twine! 

We also had fruit kabobs and pasta salad.

Here's the gift table...

We each brought the same book for each baby.

And these blocks?? GENIUS! 

Not only can you track weeks but days, months and years!
